Bolton Hotel is excited to be part of Wellington Heritage Week, the capital's community heritage festival that celebrates the region’s historic people, places and stories. 

From guided tours to talks, exhibitions and open days, Wellington's rich cultural history will be showcased once more. The line-up is now live with free and ticketed events across the city from October 26th to November 1st.

The Rita Angus cottage holds a particularly close place in our hearts. Rita was our Managing Director's aunt, plus prints of her works are throughout the hotel.

The beautiful cottage, a short stroll from Bolton Hotel, was most recently home to Southland artist Daegan Wells as part of the 2020 Enjoy Summer Artist in Residence at the Rita Angus Cottage, an opportunity supported by Enjoy with Creative New Zealand Arts Council Toi Aotearoa and the Thorndon Trust.

Daegan's resulting exhibition can be viewed at the Enjoy gallery in Cuba Street until 5 September 2020.
